The Jumbo Coturnix make great meat birds. They are capable and generally start breeding and laying eggs as early as 6 to 8 weeks from hatch. They are fully matured at 10 weeks. The quail need about 14 to 16 hours of light to breed and lay eggs. If you keep a light on them through the winter months they will lay all year. with the hens laying an egg most every day. Their eggs are significantly larger than average quail eggs, so they're awesome for eating or even pickling. There will be a variety of colors and sure to be a hit with the kids. These are by far the favorite and top sellers among the quail growers.
